Piper and Lleyton’s Gippsland wedding in Arawata, South Gippsland was the kind of day that feels deeply personal — relaxed, nostalgic, and full of heart.
These two first met through a mutual friend (with Piper bravely sliding into Lleyton’s DMs — we love to see it). Five years later, he proposed in the quiet town of Megalochori in Santorini — an intimate moment that perfectly suited Piper’s low-key nature.
Their wedding day brought everything full circle. The ceremony was held in the same little church where Piper’s parents were married, in a place that holds so many precious childhood memories. Friends and family even travelled from Queensland to celebrate with them.
Despite a questionable forecast (and yes — a couple of buried sausages for good luck), the weather held out beautifully. Guests enjoyed lawn games and drinks outside the Arawata Hall, we snuck away to a generous neighbour’s paddock for photos, and the evening delivered the most incredible country sunset.
One of the most joyful moments was Piper’s dad giving guests tractor rides — a nostalgic nod to family traditions — while their sweet dog Sansa did her best to steal the spotlight.
Piper later shared:
“Kayla you were so incredible to have as our photographer… You made us feel so at ease and helped us find humour in the discomfort of having our photos taken. We are in love with the photos and I can’t stop looking at them haha.”
If you’re planning a relaxed, heartfelt Gippsland wedding Arawata surrounded by family history and country charm, South Gippsland is truly something special.
Planning your own Gippsland wedding?
I’d love to hear what you’re dreaming up.
